West County Community Services (“WCCS”) is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We actively work to improve the accessibility and usability of westcountyservices.org for all visitors, including people with disabilities.
Conformance Target
WCCS aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
The Site is designed with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the California Unruh Civil Rights Act in mind. We regard digital accessibility as an ongoing process rather than a one-time effort.
Conformance Status
The Site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Some parts of the content may not yet fully meet the accessibility standard; where this is the case, we are working to bring them into conformance.
Known Limitations
- Third-party content — some content on the Site is provided by third parties (for example, embedded videos, donation forms, or PDF documents) that WCCS does not directly control. We advocate for accessibility with our vendors but cannot guarantee full conformance of that content.
- Older uploaded documents — some older PDF and image documents may not yet be fully accessible. Accessible alternatives can be requested using the contact information below.
